USDA forecast winter wheat production up 4% from 2015

The National Agricultural Statistics Service of the U.S. Department of Agriculture on May 10, on the basis of its initial producer survey of the season, forecast winter wheat production in the U.S. in 2016 at 1.427 billion bushels, up 56.896 million bushels, or 4%, from 1.37 billion bushels in 2015. It would be the largest winter wheat crop since 1.542 billion bushels in 2013.
